Description:
The Spinal Cord Injury Association of Illinois (SCIA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to serve as a comprehensive resource center for individuals who have been paralyzed due to trauma or conditions of the central nervous system, their families, health professionals, policy makers and others interested in spinal cord injury. Activities of SCIA address major areas such as prevention, medical care, rehabilitation, research and other aspects of living with a spinal cord injury. SCIA seeks to fulfill this mission through a combination of direct services including information and referral, peer support, publications, and educational programs.
