Description:
Indiana University Dance Marathon (IUDM) is a student organization that raises money year-round for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. IUDM was started in 1991 by Jill Stewart after her friend Ryan White passed away from AIDS. Ryan, having contracted HIV through a treatment for his hemophilia, was nationally recognized for his battle against the stigma associated with AIDS. Twenty years later, IUDM strives to emit the same passion and dedication that Ryan had so many years ago through through raising funds and awareness for Riley Hospital, the hospital where Ryan was treated. IUDM has raised over $8.5 million that directly benefits the Ryan White Infectious Disease Center at Riley. For more information please visit www.iudm.org.
