The Solid Ground Supportive Housing Program— Chicago’s first bilingual, male-intentional supportive housing program for homeless youth, aged 16-21, offers supportive housing for youth under the age of 18. Most housing programs for male youth provide housing for only 120 days. LCN’s longer program allows staff to teach and model the skills needed for youth to maintain stable housing and employment, rebuild their self-esteem, address mental health trauma, and prepare them for continuing education.
• Case Management
• Life Skills Training
• Mental Health Resources and Support Groups
• Esperanza Trabajando (Career Readiness & Placement)
• Mentorship Program
• Inter-Disciplinary Arts Programming
• Social Outings and Activities

Our third program is Esperanza Trabajando, our job readiness, placement and training program. Esperanza Trabajando works with the homeless and precariously housed individuals and families, helping them through various initiatives to become employed. Program components include one on one couching, job readiness training, support in finding a job and for some referral to training when appropriate. LCN also has an innovative technical training program called Casa TeraU. Students in this training program initially receive technical training in current office software providing them with skills needed to bridge the digital divide.

Our recent addition is Casa Corazon, a youth outreach program for homeless youth of Chicago, where we provide counseling, services and a warm place to escape to for a few hours.
