Heaven Opens People’s Eyes (HOPE) was a donor-advised fund established by WNBA player, Temeka Johnson, to provide HOPE to people across the world. Currently the foundation has established its own identity launching fully in January 2010. After becoming a key player on the Los Angeles Sparks - now a WNBA Champion with the Phoenix Mercury, Temeka made it known that she wanted to provide more opportunities for the communities that are underserved, and to the individuals that could benefit from her ability to provide inspiration and hope to those in need. As a Hurricane Katrina survivor, Temeka is proud to be amongst those that have overcome the tragedy that affected so many families and lives. Whether it is a basketball camp to teach key fundamentals or promote physical activity for youth, or selecting children in need to receive personal hygiene makeovers during the school year, Temeka exhausts her resources to make a difference in the lives of others. The foundation is managed by Fuzion Athlete Management. Louisiana State University (LSU, Temeka’s alma mater) is an instrumental force with HOPE and Coach Robert Starkey serves as the strategic voice behind the foundation.
