To support youth classical music education by raising money & hosting special events for CYSO.

Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras (CYSO) is internationally recognized as one of the premier youth orchestras in the United States. For over 60 years, its programs have provided music education and instrumental training of the highest quality to Chicago metropolitan area youth. CYSO provides five training orchestras and chamber music instruction to more than 375 gifted musicians ages 7 to 18. The organization also serves 5,000 Chicago Public School students through its "Music Pathways" program and over 30,000 audience members each season.

The Role of the CYSO Associate Board is to:
(1) Raise funds for CYSO that benefit special programs such as CYSO's programs with Chicago Public Schools.
(2) Promote CYSO and its events by hosting fundraisers at Chicago hot spots such as N9NE Steakhouse, Texas de Brazil and Bin 36.
(3) Support the CYSO staff and Board of Directors prior to and during the annual CYSO gala celebration, "The Noteworthy Night".
(4) Work directly with CYSO students and alumni in various volunteer capacities.

CYSO Associate Board Benefits
(1) Support the training of Chicago's most promising young musicians.

(3) Develop marketing, project management and strategic planning skills.

CYSO Associate Board Commitment
(1) Attend monthly Associate Board meetings (the 2nd Monday evening of each month).
(2) Complete 10 CYSO volunteer hours per fiscal year.
(3) Contribute financially to CYSO (no minimum amount required).
(4) Attend and promote CYSO concerts and fundraising events.
