Purpose:

CEL provides social and life-enrichment programs to people of all ages with development disabilities

Description:

Since 1968, The Center for Enriched Living (CEL) has helped countless children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities leave behind a lonely and isolated existence to embrace a world rich in friendships and new experiences.

Open 7 days a week and serving more than 700 individuals each year, CEL is committed to enhancing the quality of life for persons with developmental disabilities by providing a place where members can meet friends, learn skills for greater independence, enjoy enrichment activities, and engage in community pursuits.

At CEL we believe that persons with developmental disabilities deserve the same opportunities as those without disabilities. We further believe that persons with developmental disabilities should be full participants in the community. The Center works to make this happen by serving as a social and community conduit for children, adults and seniors with developmental disabilities from throughout the Chicago-area.
